Cost of Attendance

The cost of attendance is an estimate of how much your educational costs are expected to be for an academic year (Fall and Spring semesters). You can download a Cost of Attendance (PDF) sheet which outlines these costs.

Cost of Attendance includes:

  • Tuition and fees are fixed costs for any given academic year. Specific tuition and fee amounts for all undergraduate and graduate programs can be found in the Cost of Attendance document above.
  • Books and supplies are variable costs and depend upon your particular program of study. Books and supplies are estimated at $572 per semester.
  • Room, board, transportation, and personal expenses are extremely variable costs and can consume the biggest part of your budget. Because of their flexible nature, these costs deserve your most careful consideration. Your education may well depend upon your ability to construct a sound budget, and live within it!

In addition to these costs, there are other variables involved in determining your cost of attendance:

  • Your residency status: resident (in-state) vs. non-resident (out-of-state).
  • Your living arrangements: living at home vs. living in WVU owned housing vs. living off-campus in an apartment.
  • Your year in college.
  • In some cases (approved through an appeal process), your cost of attendance may be adjusted to include costs associated with medically prescribed special diets, child care, etc.
  • Room and board cost will vary depending on meal plan selected. Please consult the room and board costs on the Housing website.
  • Certain laboratory courses have fees ranging from $60 to $90 for each course.
  • Costs are subject to change. Tuition and fees for graduate and professional programs vary.
  • Individual programs may have additional fees.
  • Students admitted to Potomac State College should consult the PSC tuition and fee schedule.
