Admissions

Your first step to joining the Mountaineer Nation is applying for admission - and we try to make the process as convenient as possible. Simply choose your student type from the list below or to the left to find information and admission requirements. Once we have received your application and all required documents, your file will be reviewed promptly.
 
 
 
Freshmen
You are a high school senior or have completed a high school diploma or GED and have not enrolled full-time at another college/university.
 
 
Transfer
You have completed any post-secondary (after high school) work at an accredited college/university.
 
International
You are a non-U.S. citizen and will be enrolling with F-1 or J-1 visa status.
 
Readmitted Students
You have left the University for at least one complete semester (excluding summer terms) and would like to return.

ACCESS Students
You have completed your junior year of high school with at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and wish to take college classes. ACCESS = Attaining College Credits and Experience while in Secondary School.
 
Transient Students (Application - pdf)
You are a student at another college/university and would like to take a course at WVU.
 
Second Degree
You are students who have previously earned an undergraduate degree and who would like to pursue a second degree. Second degree seeking applicants must complete the Application for Undergraduate Admission and indicate their status as "Second Degree." You can access the online application or download a printable application on the Apply Now page.
 
Non-Degree
You are students who wish to take undergraduate courses at WVU and do not plan to pursue a degree or who wish to fulfill prerequisites for a graduate program. Non-degree seeking students must complete the Application for Undergraduate Admission and indicate their status as "non-degree." You can access the online application or download a printable application on the Apply Now page. Please contact the Financial Aid Office if you have questions about your eligiblity for aid as a non-degree student.
 
Graduate
You have already completed an undergraduate degree and wish to pursue studies beyond the undergraduate level.
